If you are going to speak publicly, do your research. I did...

Yesterday, I came across an article from the Smyth County News & Messenger with the headline "Sen. Carrico blasts governor's agenda as anti-Southwest".  Sen. Bill Carrico R-Galax, stated that Gov. McAuliffe's agenda will "cripple coal, violate our gun rights and diminish our economy."  However, in the New Virginia Economy text under energy, page 11 on the following link, https://governor.virginia.gov/media/3501/new-virginia-economy-12052014.pdf, the following is stated...

Go global with coal technology by building a proactive
outreach program that creates an awareness of international
opportunities, conduct an “export tour” in Southwest Virginia
and increase technical assistance for future growth of coal in
international markets.

This doesn't sound very anti-Southwest to me.

Additionally, Sen. Carrico stated the Governor is "promoting more ways" to limit the rights of people to own guns. The Governor's proposal includes...

prohibiting the possession of firearms for persons subject to protective orders and those who have committed certain misdemeanor offenses, such as stalking, sexual battery, and domestic violence, as well as revoking concealed handgun permits for parents delinquent on child support payments and closing the gun show loophole.

In an article with The Bland Messenger, Sen. Ben Chafin R- Hansonville stated, "these proposals will only hurt law abiding gun owners and sportsmen like myself." Note to you Sen. Chafin... the expanded gun control has nothing to do with law abiding citizens.

The point of all of this is that both of these Senators are Republicans. The Governor of Virginia is a Democrat.  Are these Senators simply attacking the Governor's plan because he is of a different Party? Seems like it since their arguments don't match up against what the facts actually are.

Later people.
